About Mike Socha
Michael Socha graduated from Stetson University in 2004 and has received two Master’s degrees: his first from The George Washington University in Washington DC and the second from Stanford University through their Executive Master’s program.
After moving to Washington DC for grad school, he soon met Matthew Socha in 2006. Matt and Mike have been inseparable ever since, marrying once it was legal to do so in 2014.
Mike went on to work for Citibank and later, Accenture. He has helped many large retail banks to streamline their mortgage processes through better practices and better technology. He was also one of the original team members who built the software that almost every mortgage broker in the US now uses, daily.
In 2019, he and his husband opened their own mortgage brokerage, The Socha Lending Group, where Mike is currently the President. The Socha Lending Group is the only mortgage company in the USA certified by the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. They are now able to help borrowers in 39 states.
Mike has become a fierce advocate for the LGBTQ community. He has been recognized for helping to change national lending criteria for transgendered mortgage borrowers. He was named National Mortgage Broker of the Year in 2022 by NAMB and was also named a “Top 40 Most Influential People Under 40 in Mortgage” in 2020.
